Herpetic Eye Disease

Course Description: This course covers the anterior segment complications associated with herpes simplex virus infection. The natural history of the herpes simplex virus and the epidemiology of HSV infections are discussed. Blepharocunjunctivitis, dendritic keratitis, stromal keratitis, endothelitis, trabeculitis, iritis, and neurotrophic keratitis are all covered in detail. Primary disease vs. secondary recurrent disease is stressed.

To learn about the natural history of Herpes Simplex infections
To learn about the epidemiology of Herpes Simplex ocular infections
To learn about the anterior segment manifestations of Herpes Simplex infection
To learn about the management of various manifestations of anterior segment Herpes Simplex infections.
