Tabitha Arnett, BSPH, MSEd, CAE
Executive Director

Tabitha Arnett was named the executive director of the Indiana Optometric Association on June 15, 2023. Tabitha previously served as the executive director of the Indiana Osteopathic Association. With more than 20 years of experience in association management, she has served as executive director of the Indiana Psychological Association and director of professional development with the Indiana Pharmacists Alliance. Tabitha is a Certified Association Executive (CAE) through the American Society of Association Executives (ASAE) and has served on multiple association boards. Prior to entering the association management arena, she spent six years in higher education at Indiana University Purdue University at Indianapolis including positions as an academic advisor, admissions counselor and assistant director of the university’s honors program.

DeAnna Ferguson
Director of Finance & Meetings

DeAnna Ferguson joined the IOA in August of 2022 with over 20 years of healthcare experience. Over the years, DeAnna has gained valuable insights into the daily operations and management of healthcare practices. Her previous role as a practice manager in a local optometry office has provided her with specific insights into the challenges and opportunities faced by eye care professionals. DeAnna studied business at Anderson University and has extensive training in medical billing and coding.

Lisa Sheridan
Director of Marketing & Communications

Lisa Sheridan has served on the staff of the Indiana Optometric Association as Director of Marketing and Communications since 2014. Prior to the IOA, Lisa provided freelance writing, editing, marketing and social media management, while a stay at home mom. She has worked in several industries in the area of public relations and marketing, including tourism, healthcare, architecture and accounting. She has also served as a copy editor on several publications. Lisa is a graduate of St. Joseph’s College in Rensselaer, Indiana, and received a Master of Library Science from Indiana University.


Mikala Mobley
Membership Coordinator

Mikala Mobley joined the IOA central office in January 2024. As Membership Coordinator, Mikala serves the general membership needs, including phone calls, event registration, member applications, dues and classified ads. She joins the IOA with 12 years of healthcare experience. She previously worked as an ophthalmic assistant for Riley Children’s Hospital Ophthalmology and has served as a legislative aide for the Indiana State Senate. Mikala is a certified ophthalmic assistant and board certified optician and holds a degree from IUPUI in civic leadership with a focus in non-profit management.
