The Indiana Optometric Association (IOA) kicked off a multi-media campaign centered around the theme “More than 20/20” to highlight the importance of optometrists in healthcare, and to encourage Indiana viewers to schedule an annual eye exam.

Effective April 1, 2021, for Anthem Blue Cross and Blue Shield (Anthem) members enrolled in Hoosier Healthwise, Healthy Indiana Plan and Hoosier Care Connect, vision benefits will be coordinated by Superior Vision. Anthem’s contract with Vision Service Plan will end on March 31, 2021.

Criminals are using the names, logos, and other information from the IOA, Indiana Optometry Board, and US Dept. of Justice to illegally extort money from Optometrists. The criminals are contacting ODs and telling them that their license has been suspended because someone is using their license and prescribing numbers to illicitly sell drugs. They then request payment in the form of gift cards.
