Optometry License Renewal Extension
Governor Eric Holcomb, in Executive Order 20-09 issued March 23, 2020, ordered that professional licenses due to expire during the public health emergency are automatically extended until May 22, 2020. Optometry licenses, legend drug certificates, and controlled substance registrations set to expire on April 1, 2020, are now valid through May 22, 2020. The deadline for completing continuing education required for renewal is also extended until May 22, 2020.
Indiana Optometry Board President Doug Morrow has stated that the IOB is reviewing the rule that limits distance learning credits to a maximum of eight hours in a two year period. As of this date, no determination has been made. IOA will post information as soon as it is received.
