IOA Executive Director Jim Zieba is on a military leave of absence from May 2, 2019, through Spring 2020. Zieba is a colonel in the United States Army and serves as Staff Judge Advocate of the 38th Infantry Division. In that position, he serves as the commanding general’s personal legal advisor and the chief legal officer of the Division. He is currently stationed at Camp Arifjan in Kuwait. In his absence, Marilyn Carter is serving as IOA’s Acting Executive Director. “Marilyn brings with her a wealth of professional experience in association management, communications and state politics,” said Zieba. Carter started working at the IOA in February to familiarize herself with the role and has completely assumed Zieba’s duties during his absence. “Marilyn will manage the staff and be responsible for the day-to-day operations of the Association, as well as work with IOA’s elected leaders to provide strong and effective leadership during my absence,” said Zieba. “I am confident the IOA will be in good hands.”
