The IOA announced the 2020 award winners. The Optometrist of the Year is Dr. Robert Kirkpatrick, Madison, Indiana, and the President’s Citation - Young Optometrist of the Year is Dr. Jennifer Johnson, Northwest Indiana.
Dr. Damon Dierker who practices at Eye Surgeons of Indiana was elected president of the Indiana Optometric Association.
Governor Eric Holcomb, in Executive Order 20-27 issued May 8, 2020, extended the expiration date of any state agency-issued license, including occupation and professional licenses, to June 4, 2020. The previous extension was through May 22, 2020.

Announcing the 2020-2021 Board of Trustees and Officers
In an effort to assist IOA members during this time of uncertainty, the IOA Board voted unanimously to waive IOA dues for two months. The dues waiver will take effect immediately and apply for the months of April and May. The AOA has also notified members of immediate dues relief, waiving all dues for two months for all members.
